Points to note for Brake Pad Induction Wire

2021-11-29

We know that most cars use the front disc and rear drum brake structure. Under normal circumstances, the front brake shoes wear relatively quickly, while the rear brake shoes are used for a relatively long time. Under normal traveling conditions, the service life of the front brake pads is 20,000-40,000 kilometers, and the service life of the rear brake pads is 60,000-100,000 kilometers. Here are some points to note about Brake Pad Induction Wire:

       1. Check the Brake Pad Induction Wire every 5000 kilometers under normal traveling conditions.

       2. The brake shoe is generally composed of two parts: iron lining and conflicting materials. Do not wait for the conflicting materials to wear out before replacing the shoe. For example, the front brake shoe of a Jetta car, the thickness of the new piece is 14 mm, and the replacement limit thickness is 7 mm, which includes the thickness of the iron liner of more than 3 mm and the thickness of the conflicting material of nearly 4 mm. It is necessary to replace the shoe that has reached the limit of use. Even if it can be used for a certain period of time, the effect of braking will be reduced and driving safety will be affected.

       3. Replace the brake pads supplied by the original manufacturer. Only in this way can the braking effect between the brake pads and the brake disc be the best and the wear is minimized.

       4. When replacing, it is necessary to use special tools to push back the brake cylinder. Do not use other crowbars to hard press back, otherwise it will easily cause the brake caliper guide screw to bend and cause the brake pad to jam.
